Viking Pools, the fibreglass swimming pool manufacturing division of Latham International, in Jane Lew, W. Va., recently acquired Trilogy Pools, a manufacturer of residential and commercial fibreglass composite pools and spas in Fayetteville, Tenn.
“Trilogy is a strong competitor, with many quality builders located throughout the eastern U.S.,” says Viking’s president, Tom Straub. “Together we can better serve customers with cutting-edge marketing programs and some of the broadest and most innovative product lines in the industry. By adding a sixth U.S. manufacturing location, we improve our ability to service our customers in these markets.”
Trilogy’s co-owners, Ted Baudendistel and Rick Black, will remain with the company in the positions of general manager and operations manager.
“[I am] very pleased to add Trilogy to the company’s family of brands,” says Mark Laven, Latham’s president and CEO. “Trilogy owners, Ted (Baudendistel) and Rick (Black), have built a good business with quality products and have a great reputation in the industry. We’re delighted they will continue on and be part of our fibreglass pools division.”
The acquisition comes just a year after Viking Pools acquired Blue Hawaiian Pools (PSM Online, Dec. 9, 2010), a fibreglass pool manufacturer with manufacturing plants in Largo, Fla., and Rocky Mount, N.C.
Latham International operates 15 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
