Waterplay Solutions Corp., was recently named one of Canada’s top 100 businesses led by a female entrepreneur in the 18th annual PROFIT/Chatelaine W100 rankings.
Jill White, president of the Kelowna, B.C.-based manufacturer and designer of aquatic play equipment was ranked 52nd. Since purchasing the business from its founders in 2004, she has helped the company become a leader in the aquatic play industry. The company employs more than 50 individuals and plays a strong role in the local community, working with organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club, United Way, the Kelowna Food Bank, and Salvation Army.
“It’s a great honour to be recognized alongside such outstanding businesses and leaders in Canada,” said White. “This recognition reflects the exceptional growth of our product over the years and the hard work of our entire team.”
Female leadership is not the exception in this organization—the company’s managing director and director of finance are also women—and plays a unique part of Waterplay’s corporate identity today.
The W100 ranking of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs celebrates the achievements of female entrepreneurs and their important contributions to the Canadian economy. Entrants are ranked by a combination of the size, growth rate, and profitability of their business.
Published in the June issue of Canadian Business, as well as year-round at Chatelaine.com and at PROFITguide.com, the W100 is Canada’s largest annual celebration of entrepreneurial achievement by women.
