WhiteWater executive joins ASTM board

Franceen Gonzales, the vice-president of business development for WhiteWater West Industries Ltd., has joined the board of directors for American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International.

Franceen Gonzales, vice-president of business development for WhiteWater West Industries Ltd., a water ride engineering and manufacturing firm in Richmond, B.C., has recently joined the board of directors for American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International.

As a member of the board of directors for ASTM International, a standards organization that develops and publishes voluntary consensus technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services, she intends to bring her previous board experience and passion for safety to the table for the benefit of ASTM members and stakeholders.

“I get to work with incredibly intelligent and passionate people who are all working together to make the world a better place,” Gonzales said as to why she enjoys working with ASTM. “There is real satisfaction in developing standards and seeing how they directly make people’s lives better and safer.”

In addition to her role on the board of directors, she also serves on committees D22 on air quality, F15 on consumer products, and F24 on amusement rides and devices. She is also sits on the board of directors for the National Swimming Pool Foundation® (NSPF®).

Gonzales has sat on a number of industry organization boards, including the World Waterpark Association (WWA), International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), and Amusement Industry Manufacturers and Suppliers (AIMS).
