WhiteWater West, a Canadian manufacturer and installer of waterpark attractions in Richmond, B.C., was recognized as one of the country’s top businesses with the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award.
This is the second consecutive year the company has received this award, which is presented to those businesses which demonstrate excellent business strategy, capability, and commitment to achieving sustainable growth.
“We reinvented our hiring process over the last few years with the goal to hire for attitude, character, and values instead of solely for hard skills,” said WhiteWater’s director of human resources, Coleen Hunter. “We saw tremendous growth in 2015 with the addition of 85 new positions, each of them hired with our new principles.”
Canada’s Best Managed Companies, which is sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, National Post, Smith School of Business, and MacKay CEO Forums, continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $10 million. Ever since the program was launched in 1993, entrepreneurial companies have competed for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates their management skills and practices.
