Aquatic facility registration is now open for The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL). This year marks the seventh edition of the event, which offers free swimming lessons to thousands of children worldwide.

Aquatic facilities worldwide are registering to host the 2016 edition of The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL) with sights targeted on setting a new Guinness World Record.™

This year marks the seventh edition of the event, scheduled to take place on June 24, which looks to build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning. Last year, more than 900 aquatic facilities in 24 countries registered to host more than 40,000 swimmers—10 times the number of participants during the first year of the event in 2014.

Those aquatic facilities interested in hosting a lesson and participating in this year’s WLSL need to register[2] by June 6. The list of host locations will be posted beginning March 15, and updates will be made through the close of registration.

The WLSL was created to serve as a platform to help local community aquatic facilities and various water safety and drowning prevention organizations work together to communicate the fundamental importance of teaching children to swim.
